Mothers of Children Having Allergies (MOCHA)
MOCHA (Mothers of Children Having Allergies) is a group of parents sharing information and supporting each other. The 700+ Chicagoland members of MOCHA know how frightening it can be to learn that your child has been diagnosed with severe, often life-threatening allergies.
MOCHA is not a professional or medical organization. It is a group of parents sharing information and supporting each other. The discussions, meeting minutes, handouts, speakers, agendas, and other products of our support group do not constitute medical and/or legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. Multiples of Illinois
Multiples of Illinois is an Illinois non-profit, educational, public service organization providing support, information and networking to parents of multiples (twins, triplets, quads, etc.) through its member club affiliates. They offer a scholarship program, Special Needs Assistance Fund (SNAF), communications, and an annual spring workshop and conference.
National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) – For Families
Provides research-based resources, tips and ideas for families- from child development to reading, writing, music, math, and more.
National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations (NCPMI) – Family Engagement
NCPMI- Family Engagement At every tier of the Pyramid Model, practitioners and programs consider strategies to welcome and support diverse families, to learn from families, partner with families to promote child outcomes, and provide supports and services that families need to promote their child’s skill development. PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center
PACER Center is a parent training and information center for families of children and youth with all disabilities from birth to young adults located in Minneapolis, and serving families across the nation. Pacer’s National Bullying Prevention Center site provides free, useful documents, videos and other resources on bullying prevention. Features include A Resource Kit, Kids Against Bullying website, Teens Against Bullying website, and Overview on Addressing Bullying of Students with Disabilities.
Parenting Counts
Parenting Counts is a research-based resource developed to support parents and caregivers in raising socially and emotionally healthy children. They provide parents, caregivers, and early learning professionals with trustworthy information to use in daily interactions with children. Parent handouts on child development in English and Spanish. Parenting tips shared through short videos on key areas of child development.
PBS Parents
Filled with information on early learning, PBS Parents provides information on topics such as education, child development, activities, food and fitness, parenting, and PBS programming. The site includes interactive games and videos for parents and children. Also in Spanish
