Illinois Association for the Education of Young Children (ILAEYC)
Illinois AEYC advances high quality learning for all children birth through age 8 by promoting practice, policy and research to support all families and professionals.
Illinois Early Learning Project
This project of the Illinois State Board of education and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign offer many resources for parents and professionals. The Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards for Preschool and the Illinois’ Birth to Three Learning Guidelines are also available on the IELP website. IELP Tips Sheets are easy-to-read, one-page tip sheets of activities, and strategies to support the development of young children in all areas, available in several languages.
Illinois State Board of Education- Early Childhood Department
The Early Childhood department of the Illinois State Board of Education provides leadership and technical assistance to support state programs serving children prenatal to age 8, and their families. Services provided include state Prevention Initiative, Preschool For All, and Expansion Grants, as well as the Federal Expansion Grant, and a variety of resources for parents, teachers and administrators.
ISBE Funded Technical Assistance Projects
The Special Education Department provides comprehensive technical assistance through a variety of statewide projects. These initiatives are designed to:
- Deliver expert guidance on promising practices for educating students with disabilities.
- Operate statewide training and technical assistance programs to support educators and administrators.
- Administer comprehensive systems of personnel development for special education professionals.
- Manage grant programs that enhance special education service delivery in schools.

National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)

National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations (NCPMI)
The Pyramid Model is a conceptual framework of evidence-based practices for promoting social and emotional competence in infants and young children. Funded by the Office of Special Education Programs, NCPMI works to improve and support the capacity of state systems and local programs to implement this early childhood system to improve the social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes of young children with, and at risk for, developmental disabilities or delays. The NCPMI focuses on reducing the use of inappropriate discipline practices, promoting family engagement, using data for decision-making, integrating early childhood and infant mental health consultation and fostering inclusion.
Results Matter Video Library
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) produces these videos for professional development activities and obtains voluntary written permission from all parties who appear in these video clips. Anxiety is a common mental illness that affects not only adults but also children. According to data on children’s mental health from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), roughly 5.8 million children in America struggle with diagnosed anxiety. And, for students, anxiety disorders don’t only show up as feelings or nervousness on the first day of school; anxiety can also hinder a child’s self-esteem, academic performance and overall well-being.
