SUMMARY:Change the State to Educate: Self-Regulation & Calming Strategies for Young Children
DESCRIPTION:LocationOnline – at your computer Time4:00 PM – 5:00 PM Registration3:45 PM – 4:00 PM PresentersKatie Suchy and Dr Elizabeth Cambray-Engstrom Description: Join Becky and Katie for the 2025–2026 ECSE Teacher Cohort! Whether you’re new to the field\, a returning cohort participant\, or a seasoned early childhood special educator\, this year’s cohort series is designed to support and elevate your work in inclusive classrooms. Each month\, we’ll focus on a different set of DEC Recommended Practices\, using real classroom examples\, collaborative discussion\, and practical reflection to help you make meaningful connections between the practices and your day-to-day teaching. This series is grounded in supporting children with disabilities and developmental delays within inclusive early childhood settings. Our conversations and activities will center around how to implement the DEC Recommended Practices in ways that promote access\, participation\, and outcomes for all learners\, with a special focus on individualized supports and collaborative teaming. You’ll leave each session with concrete ideas to try\, tools to adapt\, and strategies to take back to your team including families\, related service providers\, or paraprofessionals. Each session will begin with reflection and resource sharing\, include small group discussion\, and wrap up with large group takeaways.  Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions to build on prior learning\, strengthen professional connections\, and share inclusive practices throughout the school year. An optional 30-minute Q&A discussion will follow each meeting. Tentative Topics: January: Interaction  February: Family  March: Teaming & Collaboration April: Bringing It All Together  Participants will: Review the Division for Early Childhood Recommended Practices. Reflect on current practices in your early childhood and ECSE classrooms. Discuss with colleagues in small group and large group settings ways to implement Recommended Practices to support all learners. \n\n\n\n \n \n Register
