In this book study, “Empowering Your Child to Fly: A Family’s Guide to Early Childhood Inclusion” by Jani Kozlowski, family members of children with disabilities will have the opportunity to explore topics about importance of inclusion in early childhood education, understanding the nuances of special education, and effectively advocating for their child in special education. Each participant will receive a copy of the book and through readings and group discussions will gain better understanding of ways to support their child through his or her educational journey!
Learner objectives Objectives: 1) Participants will network with other families walking similar journeys with their children 2) Participants will be gain more knowledge in ways to advocate and support their child. 3) Participants will gain confidence in their understanding of early childhood special education
