January 25, 2027 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Location Online – at your computer
Time 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Registration 3:45 PM – 4:00 PM
Presenters Ely Cambray-Engstrom and Katie Suchy
Description:
Join Ely and Katie for a collaborative learning series designed specifically for early childhood special educators working in inclusive settings. Together, we will explore how effective communication, strong team partnerships, and evidence-based practices can support children’s engagement, participation, and social-emotional development. Through real-world examples, problem-solving discussions, planning activities, and strategy sharing, participants will examine the connections between behavior, communication, family partnerships, and collaborative teaming. Each session is grounded in the DEC Recommended Practices and focused on practical strategies that can be implemented immediately in classrooms and across teams. Participants will leave each session with tools, resources, and action steps to strengthen communication with families and colleagues, support children more effectively, and build inclusive learning environments where every child can thrive.
Participants will:
• Analyze current practices and identify opportunities to strengthen implementation of the DEC Recommended Practices related to teaming, family engagement, instruction, interaction, and environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to problem-solve authentic classroom, family, and team challenges and identify evidence-based strategies to support inclusive participation and positive outcomes for children.
• Develop and implement a plan for applying a session strategy, tool, or practice within their own program.
