Create Community and Connection in your classroom by introducing engaging music that encourages sharing, interaction, and brain and body building through songs, movement, rhythm and spoken word. We’ll explore the qualities, presentation methods and content of musical activities tailored to all children 2-5 years old. We will examine how simplified signing and descriptive gestures can be added to musical activities to increase engagement and support the needs of diverse learners. We’ll practice dances that encourage eye contact, appropriate touch and connecting with a partner. Attendees will learn strategies through music to support transitions between activities for children who struggle with changes in routine.
Children of all abilities react to music. Let’s make it universally accessible by making it developmentally appropriate AND fun for all. Come prepared to move!
** This event is presented in collaboration with District 63 Early Learning Center **
