Focusing on the person using the technology rather than the device itself, Bridging Apps provides access to educational and therapeutic tools that allow parents, teachers, and therapists to effectively use mobile devices and apps to target and improve individual skill development to help children and adults with disabilities reach their highest levels of physical and cognitive development.

Illinois Assistive Technology Program (IATP)
IATP promotes the availability of assistive technology services and programs for Illinois residents with disabilities and/or health conditions. IATP focuses on education, employment, community living, information technology and telecommunications. Their goal is to improve the quality of life of all Illinoisans with disabilities and enable them through greater access to assistive technology devices to fully participate in all aspects of life.
IATP provides free information and assistance on assistive technology and other related disability and aging topics, including seeing and trying devices, recycling and reusing devices, and provides training on AT and Information and Communication Technology Accessibility.
Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission – Assistive Technology Resources
Assistive technology is equipment used by individuals with disabilities to promote independence. As technology changes and improves, so does equipment. The Deaf, Hard of Hearing and DeafBlind can benefit from a variety of equipment- from assistive listening to alerting devices. This webpage provides a list of state agencies and/or nonprofit organizations that can assist with exploring different options.
